Snapshot on another side of life

We went to a film as part of the Israeli film festival which featured the lives of military conscripts in Jerusalem. It was interesting to see the personal conflicts experienced by young people who have no option but to participate in the military. For the Palestinians there is the grind of having to provide identification just to proceed with a semi normal life and the humiliation of constant searches.

It reminded me of our visit to Jerusalem and the youth of the conscripts and the sheer terror on their faces when put before a possible bomb. Every day life, taking place.

What a concept for us in Sydney, where the sun shines, terrorism seems light years away.

It is important for us to create or work towards a world where living in harmony is possible. To live in fear and terror is half a life.
